Prevention of orphanhood
We not only work with children who have already lost their parents, but also support families who are on the verge of separation from their children. Our goal is to work with the local community to help such families achieve stability, learn to protect and care for their children. Our experience shows that such an approach is necessary to solve the problem of social orphanhood.
Objectives of our projects
Provide children with the support they need to thrive
Develop the potential of families: help parents acquire pedagogical knowledge, obtain a stable income that will allow them to meet the needs of their children
Help parents learn to use all the services that the state offers them: receive benefits, medical and educational services
Build an active network of partners and strengthen the capacity of local communities to support families in crisis
The purpose of this project
As part of its mission, SOS not only works with children who have already lost their parents, but also carries out preventive social activities aimed at supporting those families in which children, due to social, material and other problems, are on the verge of separation and are already at risk of social orphanhood.
Finding such families, social workers and psychologists of the project assess the family’s situation and its needs for strengthening, and then carry out work to provide a range of services aimed at strengthening the family’s potential. As a result of providing a whole range of services, in accordance with the development plan, the family should get back on its feet and independently provide care for its children
