Today, there are about 1,000 children under the wing of SOS Children’s Villages in Kazakhstan, including, in addition to children left without parental care, about 70% of children living in low-income, disadvantaged, single-parent and other socially vulnerable categories of families at risk of social orphanhood. Over the years, our foundation has created 14 sustainable social projects aimed at the care and development of children, as well as supporting biological families at risk. These are Children’s Villages, Youth Houses, Family Strengthening Projects, the Play Bus Social Center, Kindergartens, and the I Matter! Project for Preparing Children to Leave Care. All these projects are aimed at working with different categories of a single target group of children, and provide different types of social and psychological-pedagogical services.
